The Magnificent Electric

Founding Artist

Brooklyn, NY

The Magnificent Electric plays indie psych music that is at once very silly and deeply profound.

His colorful guitar tones and warped synth sounds bridge the gap between the analog and digital worlds, while his whimsical lyrics remind listeners that it's better to be different.

"I first got into psychedelics as a party drug," explains multi-instrumentalist Jeff Latz. "But for me, they immediately became a much deeper spiritual experience. And I try stay connected with that energy when I meditate, when I write, and when I pick up a guitar."

He names Tame Impala and Mac Miller as his biggest influences today. Like both of them, he blurs the line between artist and producer, drawing inspiration from a diverse pantheon of musicians past and present.

On his most recent record, Volume II, The Magnificent Electric began to infuse his productions with more electronic sounds. He also got more vulnerable with his songwriting.

"As we came out of quarantine, I found that the world had changed, and quickly realized that perhaps I had changed even more," he says. "I was finally ready to reject the parts of traditional masculinity that aren't true to who I am."

The Magnificent Electric released his second album, Volume II, on March 22, 2024.

He is currently working on his third record out of his home studio in Brooklyn!
